Loved reading this article from The Washington Post about the voice actors in the “Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” video game working from home during the Covid-19 pandemic. As a voice actor who has been working almost exclusively from a home studio for over 15 years, I’m guilty of sometimes taking it for granted and forget that not all voiceover actors have had and/or needed that luxury. I would think the mocap (motion capture) would be especially challenging to adapt to from home though. The headgear is pretty cool (*adds to wishlist*)!

‘Call of Duty’ voice actors spent the summer on video calls like the rest of us
“Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War” actors needed to adapt to the pandemic just like the rest of the world’s remote workers.
When you do something that you love for a living, it can sometimes be tough to remember that you also have other interests (wait…you do have other interests, right? If not, maybe start trying new things and see what clicks). As much as you may really love your work, it’s important to take breaks and recharge the batteries. I do this by getting outdoors whenever possible. If you’re in an area that’s still in lockdown due to Covid-19 your options may be limited, but something as simple as just sitting outside in your yard or taking a walk around the block can be really helpful for your psyche.
